Edvin’s Icon of the Seas and Disney World Experience

Our Chief of Operations, Edwin, was just recently on board the inaugural sailing of Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas and visited Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando for the first time!

The Icon of the Seas is Royal Caribbean’s newest and largest cruise ship. In fact, it’s the largest cruise ship in the world at 20 decks high, 1,198 feet long, and maximum capacity of 7,600 passengers and 2,350 crew members. The ship had its very first, invite-only sailing out of Miami on January 27, 2024, which our very own Edwin was on!

The ship is, of course, absolutely massive. It has six waterslides for the thrill seekers and seven pools for those who just want to relax (including the first ever suspended infinity pool at sea). It has over 40 bars, restaurants, and lounges to indulge in, as well as a seemingly endless amount of activities and entertainment.

The accommodations are top-tier, as well. Edwin’s favorite feature was the very unique style of balcony that this cruise ship had. Instead of a typical balcony that you step out into, the Icon of the Seas’ balcony rooms have a large floor-to-ceiling window that opens halfway with a click of a button. This allows for a more spacious room while still having the luxury of balcony views.

On this 3-night cruise, the ship sailed to Perfect Day at CocoCay in the Bahamas, which is Royal Caribbean’s award-winning private island. This incredible island is home to waterparks, pools, restaurants, bars, entertainment and so much more. The fun is endless there!

Since he was already in Florida, Edwin decided to visit Walt Disney World Resort for the first time, as well. He traveled to Orlando right after the cruise and settled in for his stay at Disney’s immersive Wilderness Lodge. Between Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland, magic and fun encompass the entire theme park! After enjoying all the exciting rides during the day, Edwin got to enjoy the beautiful fireworks after sunset.

All in all, it was an awesome vacation. If you’re interested in sailing on the Icon of the Seas or visiting Walt Disney World Resort, let’s make it happen! Call us at (818) 543-1821 to start planning your trip.
